Percussion Institute students will have the opportunity to.
- Perform new music and solos with the LVMF Percussion Ensemble
- Take Private Lessons
- Attend percussion master classes on orchestral and chamber music skills, auditioning, & performance
- Meet colleagues from around the world
Since its addition to the LVMF in 2003, the Percussion Institute has welcomed talented students from across the United States and abroad to its intensive programs and beautiful Las Vegas.
The mission of the Percussion Institute is to provide students with the opportunity to work side-by-side with their peers and with its internationally recognized artist faculty exploring numerous aspects of the music profession at a highly professional level.
Students experience playing situations in the orchestra, chamber and percussion ensemble settings and also work in the area of solo performance. Historical and pedagogical aspects of the literature performed are also a focus.
During private lessons and master classes, students gain insight to a broad spectrum of technical and musical approaches to the repertoire.
Outside of the daily Festival schedule, students have the opportunity to visit local Las Vegas attractions and entertainment venues.
Overall, the Percussion Institute is ten days of concentrated music making and fun--at a very reasonable cost--that leave students with new friends, a positive musical experience, and a great sense of achievement.
