Welcome to the Las Vegas Music Festival

On behalf of the Board of Directors, faculty, staff, and students of the Las Vegas Music Festival, we welcome you to this year's musical celebration. This year's festival honors Mozart and his influence on music for the past two-and-a-half centuries. You are our guests at this celebration and we hope you enjoy the party in the same fun-loving way Mozart would have. Guest artists and young musicians from around the world have collaborated to bring you exciting performances, fascinating seminars, and insightful perspectives on performing and teaching. You can go online to our website at www.lvmf.org to see our entire schedule of events, classes, and performances with detailed biographies of our guest artists and their performances. Whether a well-traveled visitor or a local student, a world-famous performer or a promising young novice; this environment of learning and achievement brings us all together as cultural citizens of the world. As our scope of artistic friends has broadened over the years, so have the ranks of those behind the scenes, helping us in this cultural mission. Friends such as the Clark County - Nevada Cultural Division, University of Nevada Las Vegas, The Orleans Resort and Casino, the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation, Wynn Resorts, KNPR, and other private individuals and businesses. It is their support and effort that sets the stage upon which we play.

The Las Vegas Music Festival has a multi-faceted mission: 1) to provide the best possible musical training and performing opportunities to young musicians from around the world at low cost - allowing talent to flourish despite economic condition, 2) to staff the festival with world-class professional artist-teachers - encouraging growth through a commitment to high standards, camaraderie, and achievement, and 3) to offer great performances by these artists as an enrichment of the cultural life of Las Vegas and as a source of inspiration and emulation for our students. In addition, we believe that it is our mission to keep the cost of tickets low and to allow local students free access to our concerts.

One of our goals is to foster a sense of community ownership and pride in this very special part of Las Vegas' cultural life. Join us in our mission; now and for the future.

Sincerely,

George E Stelluto, Music Director
